Victoria College’s Photography Club
*VicXposure is Vic’s photography club, committed to providing its members with the training, resources, and facilities necessary in pursuing the art of black and white photography. It is also the club’s aim is to promote photography through lectures, workshops, seminars, photo talks, excursions, exhibitions, etc.
People with varying levels of expertise are welcome. We’ll train you!! If you are interested but do not have your own camera, that’s not a problem! You can borrow one of our cameras! We hope to see you at our next meeting!

What we offer:

1) Darkroom Facilities:
-black and white darkroom, stocked with the necessary equipment and chemicals, to be used by all members FREE of charge (mandatory training/orientation session)
2) Darkroom Training Workshop:
-Mandatory if you’d like to use the darkroom!
-A “Darkroom Training Completion” Card will be issued to you. This will enable you to sign out the darkroom key!
***We will be offering workshops throughout the year, but you will probably make the most use of the darkroom if you complete a workshop early! Check the facebook group for upcoming workshops. You can sign-up for a workshop and/or request one, by emailing us at vicxposure@gmail.com.
3) Equipment Sign-out:
-we have 2 conventional SLRs (Nikon FE2 and Canon F1), a digital SLR (Nikon D80), various lenses, etc
-these can be signed out by all members for a 72hr period with a $100 cash deposit (for a camera and 1 lens) and the signing of a waiver form
-email VicXposure indicating the date when you’d like to sign out the equipment
4) Discounted Film and Paper: (2009-10 Price List Coming Soon!)

ILFORD Delta 100-24 exposures $2.85*
ILFORD Delta 400-24 exposures $3.00*
ILFORD Multigrade Resin Coated Paper 25 sheets (Matte, Glossy, Pearl) $11.50*
*VUSAC subsidizes the cost of film and paper for VicXposure Members by 50%, which is a very sweet deal!
5) Events:
We have many events planned for this year and are also open to any ideas and suggestions you might have!
-Photo Talks–monthly, meet over tea/coffee & share ideas, critique photos, etc
***1st PhotoTalk: Friday, September 18th, 2009 (Caffiends, 3 pm) Feel free to bring your work/any photos but you don’t have to!
-Trips–World Press Photography Exhibition, AGO, Don Valley Brickworks, etc
-PhotoWalks-monthly trips, where we walk around exploring various areas of the city, through photography
***1st PhotoWalk: Friday, October 2nd, 2009 (U of T Campus)-End of the Year Exhibition–VicXposed & Vic Art Gala
-Workshop–SLR workshops & lighting workshop
6) Discounted Hart House Colour and Digital Studio Access:
-VicXposure members are able to access the Hart House Camera Club Colour Processing and Digital Studio for a $25 fee instead of the regular $35
-a colour processing workshop has to be completed though, which costs $65
7) Communication
-We will be sending out monthly newsletters

-Calendar-check out the VicXposure calendar for a schedule of upcoming events. Also you need to use this calendar in order to sign up (before signing out the darkroom key, in order to avoid conflicts & double-bookings)
-Collaborations-Working with other clubs and committees to put together projects
-Submissions-many shows, exhibitions, events, campus papers and publications, etc interested in featuring student work will contact us asking for submissions. That means we’ll contact you, and so throughout the year you’ll have plenty of opportunities to present your work
-Photographers-organizers of various events look for photographers, so look out for calls for photographers from us, throughout the year.
-Involvement-if you’d rather not have the responsibilities of being on the Exec but you’d still like to help out organizing evens, etc WE NEED YOU! So please let us know!
